Treatment
We specialize in helping patients with dental hygiene and making their smiles look great
A flap surgery is recommended to patients with moderate to severe gum disease. It cleans the
root of the tooth and repairs bone damage caused by gum diseases. It is performed on patients
who have not shown improvements after non-surgical treatments like scaling and root planing.
A local anesthetic will be given to numb the pain in the region where the procedure is
performed. Then a periodontist or oral surgeon will make an incision in the gum to separate the
gum tissue from the teeth. The gum tissue will be folded and the inflamed gum tissue will be
removed and the roots will be cleaned removing debris. After the procedure the incision will be
closed with sutures.
